So over five years ago in grad school, one of my profs tried to get me to blog about history. To put this into context, you must understand I used to always print instead of read from a screen, loved the smell of books and could barely work my laptop, cellphone and Facebook page. I had to write everyday about my everyday struggles as student of history and I hated every minute of it. It was pure torture. Ironically enough he told me that one day, I would have no choice and deal with the fact that we cannot remain isolated from all this technology. Well he was right of course. These days I work as a historical researcher, use online databases, gps, read kobo books, tweet once a day, have a LinkedIn page and have over 500 photos on Facebook. Today I took the even crazier step of blogging! I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but it is for me. Now I hate expressing my emotions but my opinions...well that is a different story. :)
I really have no idea what shape my blog will take. So please bare with me until I gain some sort of focus. So let's think of the New Year. Well my first goal (not resolution) was to start blogging...so check! That is off the list. What else do I want to do?
- Go to Paris in the fall. I have never been to Europe so it is about time!
- Lose 30 lbs on my 30th year. Oh well now you know my age lol
- Stay on budget. I still have student debt and very expensive taste...recipe for disaster.
- Take on a project of some sort.
So that is it for now.
